It happens to the best of 'em.
185 lb. guy marries a girl who loves to bake.
20 lbs. gained within the first 6 months of marriage.
2 cruises in 1 month, medical school begins - 5 lbs.
Wife who continues to bake - 5 lbs.
Guy decides he's had enough. Tipping the scale at 215 lbs.
Says he's gonna lose 40 lbs.
Wife laughs. Doesn't believe him for a second.
Guy buys a road bike, eats less and less.
2 months without wife who likes to bake.

40 lbs. GONE!

Way to go Ry!
Sorry for doubting you.

The Rents

It was so fun to have my parents here for 2 whole weeks! They were such a big help. T cleaned, swept, and vacuumed just about everything he could think of. He drove Ry to and from work when I couldn't and kept us on task. L cleaned, mopped, and made sandwiches and english muffins with the best of 'em. She made sure Ry had something to eat before work and gave us hourly weather reports. They kept Griffy entertained and took him on walks each morning. They held Hudson so I could shower or clean. It was quite nice to have 4 extra hands around to do this and that. We miss them and hope they come back soon!!
But don't trip. It wasn't all work while they were here. We managed to squeeze in a few day trips - Sharon, Vermont, Lake George and Saratoga Springs. And 3 trips to Panera and Ben and Jerry's. But who's counting!

Gramps and Griffin playing ball in the backyard.
Big T holding Hudson.
Family of four. Yikes.
In front of the monument in Sharon, Vermont. This is Joseph Smith's birthplace.

The visitor center. It was gorgeous and so green.
Of course we had to stop at the Ben and Jerry's Factory in Vermont, per my request. And boy was it worth it! Triple Caramel Chunk is my new love. Life changing.
My mom's great-grandfather was born in Lincoln, Vermont. T was going to get to Lincoln, VT rain or shine. Glad we made it T!
Ben and Jerry
T in front of a fort used during the Revolutionary War. A highlight for this History buff.
We took a ferry(with our car) from NY to VT. It was pretty cool.
There is a really neat museum close to our house. And it's free!! With a carousel!! I know where we will be during the winter.
Grandma and Griffin at the museum.
Griff eating grapes on the front porch.
Little bubbas. He's getting chubs and I love every bit of it.

Thanks, T and L or Tizzle as Ry likes to call them, for making the transition to NY a little easier for us! You were a huge help. We love you and miss you!

Sweet Boy

Hudson was blessed last Sunday by Ry. It was such a sweet blessing for our sweet boy. He is getting so big so fast! We love our little bubbas so much!!

We were lucky enough to have one set of grandparents at the blessing. Thanks for extending your trip T and L!!

We made it to NY!
We got here last Wednesday. I couldn't be happier to be with my husband again!! I cried when I saw him waiting for us in the airport. It was pretty hard being apart for so long. I sure missed him. And so did Griffin. They have been connected at the hip since we got here. It melts my heart to see them together again. My parents came with me to help with the boys and get us organized in our new house. It's been so great to have them here. I almost start crying when I think about them leaving in a few days.
It's very pretty here. Tons of green trees. The weather is great! Warm during the day and cool and breezy at night. It actually feels like the beginnings of Fall! I can't wait to see the leaves change colors. It's an old city so most of the homes are old but so cute. It's very different from AZ. Lots of winding streets. I would be lost without our GPS! I'm slowly getting used to this place. I'm sure it will take some time. We (Ry) are still working on the house. It's coming along. Our house is 80 years old and full of character. Kinda fun for a change.
Here are some pics:

The kitchen
It was already green but I liked it so we just left it that color. Ry installed a fan. We Arizonans need fans in every room.
The playroom
Ry painted and put up paneling in this room. Still have to change the carpet.
The dining room
Ryan painted the walls and built this paneling. I LOVE it.
More to come...
